Baked Apples with Raisins

4 apples
1-2 tbsp lemon juice + 1-2 tbsp water
1/4 c raisins
1/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
dash nutmeg
2 tsp butter

cut off tops of apples
core apples, leaving 1/4 inch at bottom
arrange apples in a baking dish (i used a pie plate)

mix water and lemon juice, then pour in between apples to coat the exposed apple - this keeps it from browning.

mix raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.

divide the raisin mixture evenly between the four apples.

put a 1/2 tsp butter on top of each apple.

bake at 350 for 45 minutes, occasionally basting the apples with juices in the pan.



try next time: sprinkle oatmeal over the top?
