7/26/2003 Chocolate Cream Pie Josh Lindner's Mom's recipe 1 deep-dish pie shell, baked and cooled Pudding: 3 tbsp cornstarch 1/4 c sugar 1 1/2 squares unsweetened baker's chocolate, shaved 2 c milk 1 t vanilla Whipped Cream: 1 c heavy whipping cream 1 tbsp sugar 1 tsp vanilla Topping: Couple pieces of pretentious dark chocolate bar, shaved into curls if possible Pudding: In saucepan, combine cornstarch, sugar, and chocolate. Add milk slowly. Cook over medium heat (on our stove, the center of the medium setting), stirring constantly, until thickens and boils, and looks like pudding. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Whipped Cream: Combine cream, sugar, and vanilla. Whip with mixer until small peaks form. Put pudding in pie shell, and refrigerate at least 1/2 hour until cool. Whip cream, and spread on top. Shave dark chocolate sparingly on top, refrigerate to set.
